David Lee, an Advanced Rolfer, is a member of Dr Ida Rolf Institute. Seeking out the best instructors in Rolfing Structural Integration, he has trained under first generation instructors appointed by Dr Ida Rolf, such as Peter Melchior (deceased) and Emmett Hutchins. He similarly sought instruction by Jan Sultan, Sharon Wheeler-Hancoff, Michael Salveson, Ed Maupin, Dr. Robert Schleip, Tom Myers, Dr. Don Hazen, DC (deceased) and Louis Schultz (deceased).
Aside from exposure to craniosacral therapy, neuromuscular therapy, and visceral manipulation early on in his career, he has in recent years added to his repertoire, “Clinical Neurodynamics” by Michael Shacklock, “Mobilisation of the Nervous System” by David Butler, “The Neurology of Posture” by Don Hazen, DC, Mulligan Technique, Cyriax, kinesiotaping and Functional fascia taping. Currently, David Lee is reviewing osteopathic techniques such as Muscle Energy Technique (MET), strain/counterstrain methods, craniosacral and visceral techniques.
David Lee has been an Assistant Instructor in Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute. In 2010 and 2011, he assisted Tom Myers in the popular “Anatomy Trains” course held in Hong Kong. David Lee also brings in theories on functional movement and functional exercises, himself already being trained in Rolf Movement with Monica Caspari.
This year, David Lee took his interest in movement therapy one step further by offering to his clients taichi classes and movement therapy classes taught in small groups.
